Located in the village of Saint-Julien, it has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages.
Called the “Noble Mansion of Lagrange Monteille”, it had the ability to stand at the top under the possession of Count Duchatel of the Louis Philippe dynasty at that time.
After that, it entered a period of stagnation and there were many owner changes, but in 1983, Japan’s “Suntory” acquired it.
Since the participation of Suntory, huge investments have been made, and thorough reconstruction has been carried out in every corner, such as the replanting of vines and the introduction of modern brewing equipment, which has dramatically improved. It has been reborn into a stylish style.
The vineyards are gravel soil and are cultivated by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Nowadays, it is the third grade of the rating chateau, which is the most well-known name in Japan and is familiar to Bordeaux lovers every year.
