is harvested from or about a 6.1 hectare Grand Cru (special grade) vineyard in Vosne Romanée village in the French Burgundy region, which is owned by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (Monopole). Burgundy wine made from fresh grapes.
Originally La Tache was about 1.43 ha and was a smaller field than Romanée-Conti, but at the petition of the owner Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, in 1932 it was about 4.62 in the adjoining gorge. The ha fields have been merged into the current shape.
Located on the south side of the Romanée-Conti vineyard on the south side, the 6-hectare field of La Tache spreads above and below the slope, so the thickness of the upper part and the delicacy of the lower part combine to create a unique and complex structure. Produces depth. A wine with a deep and condensed impression that is completely different from Romanée-Conti. Compared to the Romane-Conti field, it has a calcareous soil, so you can feel the soft acidity and also the strength of tannins. It takes a long time to mature, and it may take 10 years or more for individuality to appear.
Fortunately, the shape of the field is vertical and the height difference is close to 50m. Fortunately, there is a sense of stability in quality every year, and because of its very profound taste, “Romen Conti’s naughty younger brother” It is sometimes said to outperform Romanée-Conti.
