A special-grade field “Latricière Chambertin” in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin.
It is a field that is positioned as the highest grade in the special grade section of the village. Surrounded by forests on three sides, it is in a good location protected from westerlies.
The vines are divided into two blocks, 25 and 60 years old, and the small rocky soils produce condensed vines with fresh minerals.
It has a rich aroma of raspberries and dark cherries, with occasional aged aromas like black truffles.
There is a touch of oak aging such as yogurt, toast and smoke, and a slightly oily flavor like a red cherry with a drop of olive oil spreads gracefully in the mouth.
The acid is lively and vibrant, and the tannins have a silky texture. And hard minerals are the core of this wine.
The overall structural balance is very good, and it combines strength and delicacy like two pillars. It is a wonderful one with the potential of long-term aging.
