A fine wine from the island of San Trinini using the endangered Mavrotragano variety.
Mavrotragano means “Mavro = black, tragano = crisp”. As the name suggests, it is a variety with solid black skin-derived tannins and exotic and spicy nuances.
Until a few years ago, it was produced only as an auxiliary variety for sweet wines, and this variety was not noticed. Meanwhile, this wine was created by Gabaras, who paid attention to the potential of this variety to withstand the long ripening.
The scent of red and black berries has a complex nuance from the barrel. It is a wine with a wonderful balance of dense and dense tannins and tranquil fruits!
The sourness, which is the source of the multi-layered umami, rushes into it in a wavy manner, and you will be fascinated by the long lingering finish.
The Mavrotragano variety has been revived by the passion of Santorini-loving producers and is now one of the most talked-about varieties on Santorini. A valuable wine with a very low production volume of 4000 bottles a year.
